As the year 2020 wrapped up, the performance of theme park applications on the iOS platform in Europe presented interesting trends. The data provided by Sensor Tower highlights the downloads and weekly active users for each of the top five theme park apps during the fourth quarter.
Starting with Disneyland® Paris, downloads peaked in October with nearly 10 thousand, then sharply decreased to less than a thousand by December. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting at about 19 thousand in October and halving to approximately 6 thousand by the end of December.
The Europa-Park & Rulantica app also saw its highest downloads in October at roughly 7 thousand, declining to nearly 300 by December. Revenue for this app remained relatively stable, hovering around the 20-dollar mark throughout the quarter. Active users began at over 10 thousand and saw a gradual decrease to just over 1 thousand.
Alton Towers Resort — Official experienced its download peak in October with over 8 thousand, but saw a dramatic drop to less than 100 by December. The app's weekly active users started strong at around 12 thousand, ultimately falling to approximately 7 thousand by the end of the quarter.
THORPE PARK Resort – Official had a similar pattern, with downloads reaching 8 thousand in October and then plummeting to under 100. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting at around 12 thousand and decreasing to a little over 1 thousand.
Lastly, the LEGOLAND® Windsor Resort app saw a modest download peak of 3 thousand in October, which dropped to just 44 by December. Active users also decreased from 6 thousand to under 2 thousand in the same period.
